  • Till Next Time

    Empty heart,

    busy head.

    Eyes all on:

    What to do?

    Pick your nose.

    Burn the candle.

    Silly weak

    Write it down.

    Glory far.

    But underneath,

    not so,

    I know.

    Justified?

    Recognized?

    Mobilized?

    Actualized?

    Beautiful vanity:

    Flowers pressed

    in dead books.

    Where the end?

    Writes denied?

    Or prophesied?

    Oh the deadly

    Silence

    But belief

    always there

    no matter what.

    But, so what.

    Heart lightens.

    Oh, mystery!

    Write's engine:

    Where to go?

    Let it end.

    Reinvent

    Let it end,

    Till next time

    Till next time

  • Dog eat

Two dogs fight over a steak--of reconstructed meat, heated in a microwave. Growling, and snarling and tongue slashing, stabbing, scowling, hissing, nashing, they go. Killing to save their death. They rip the meat and additives apart, each retreating to comfortable distances to suck the scrumptious delightful morsels down their gullets in furious, jagged gulps of pleasure. When they finish, they return to the pile of fourteen thousand other steaks to fight over the next piece.

  • From East to West

    In freedom is slavery,

    And in surrender, release.

    In selfish, vanity,

    And in self-less, true identity,

    In striving, decay,

    And in trusting, abundant gain.

    In rights, overwhelming burden,

And in generosity, no ruling law,

In strength, the weight of the world,

    And in weakness, true wisdom.

    In living well, death,

    And in death, true life.

  • Phantoms of Truth

It's amazing to me how exquisitely truth can be uttered by those who are not even heirs of the Great Truth, Jesus the Son of God. Below is a writing by an old Muslim philosopher that illustrates my point.

It's also interesting how heirs of the Truth can say all the right words, yet still be wrong.

If a tree could uproot itself from one place to another

It would never need to fear the saw, or any blows of bad luck.

Neither the sun nor the moon could lavish their light

If they stayed motionless as a rock.

How bitter the Euphrates and the Tigris would be

If they stayed in one place like the sea!

    The air that stagnates in a pit becomes poisonous;

Look at how the air sickens because of inertia!

When the water of the sea travels toward the clouds

It frees itself from bitterness and acquires tender power.

When a fire stays without shooting out flames

It transforms itself to ashes, dead and destroyed.

Look how Joseph of Canaan, after leaving his father,

Went into Egypt and became famous forever.

See how Jesus, son of Marry, in his continual wanderings

Became the Water of Life and made the dead rise.

I have shown you a few signs; now, learn the rest yourself:

Accomplish the journey beyond yourself and reach God.

About Me

  • As a student, I was one of those kids who thought we went to school to learn things. When I worked at Whataburger, I thought we were there to produce a good product and keep the customers happy and coming back. I'm also the person who opens the door to let someone through, and can't bear to close it on the next person and so end up holding the door while the entire population of Florida passes through. I tend to be a bibliophile, but I can't support the habit. I have little patience with sycophants and people who lack basic generosity. And I wish that the Spirit would use me to increase the worship of Jesus on earth.
